If you're an aspiring nurse who is looking for a scholarship, you should be aware of the Nursing Scholarship Program. In exchange for at least two years of service at a health care facility with a critical shortage of nurses, the Nursing Scholarship Program pays just about all the costs involved with getting nursing degrees, including:

• tuition
• required fees
• other reasonable costs, including required books, clinical supplies, laboratory expenses, etc.
• monthly stipend ($1,326 for the 2010–2011 academic year)

Nursing Scholarship Program Eligibility

Eligible Applicants

• U.S. citizens, nationals, or lawful permanent residents
• Enrolled or accepted for enrollment as a full-time or part-time student in an accredited school of nursing in a professional registered nurse program (baccalaureate, graduate, associate degree, or diploma)
• Begin classes no later than September 30
• Free from any federal judgment liens
• Free from existing service commitments
• Not in default of any federal debt
